Bloom showcasing handcrafted products from county’s makers
Dunshaughlin native designer and sculptor Shane Holland, whose studio is located in Duleek Business Park, is returning to Bloom this year with some inspiring sculptures for gardens. Holland's abstract work tries to mix materials like stone bronze aluminium in various shapes and colours to enhance garden design and provide centre pieces or focus pieces, with materials suited to outdoor use.
His piece, 'Celestial Receptor' is a galvanised structure which welcomes birds to land on it whilst also being an abstract airy presence in a garden. Tribergs, Quadrupeds, Deltas, all have different themes and some have spot colour to create drama and counterpoint.
Holland appears in unit 15 in the DCCI Irish Craft Village as a part of a carefully selected group of Ireland's top craftspeople and designers. Other Meath designers like Anita Reynolds, Deirdre Caulfield, Brid Fanning, and Siobhán Daly also have stands at the exhibition.
Visitors to this year’s Bord Bia Bloom are being encouraged to discover and support local creativity by visiting the Meath Made Collective pop-up stand, showcasing some of the county's finest craft and design businesses.
