Six months jail for insurance and theft offences
A 45 year-old man from North Dublin with over 100 convictions for theft offences and more for motor insurance violations, was sentenced to a total of six months in jail.
John Stokes with an address at Dunsink Lane, Finglas also received a six year ban from driving at Trim District Court.
The ban was in respect of being the user of a vehicle not covered by insurance at Ashbourne Retail Park on 13th January last year.
For the same offence he was sentenced to a term of four months imprisonment.
He received a further consecutive term of two months imprisonment on one of two thefts offences, described as “drive-offs” at filling stations in Meath.
These offences occurred in January and February last year, one involved the stealing of diesel, value €50 at Maxol, Kiltale, Trim.
