Meath cricket club make history this weekend
Knockharley will compete in the Leinster Senior Cup for the first time ever.
Kentstown-based cricket club, Knockharley will this weekend make history when they play their first-ever Leinster Senior Cup contest against Terenure.
It is a debut contest for the 43-year-old club and speaking to leinstercricket.ie, club captain Mubeen Ali wasn't shy about sharing his expectations for the upcoming season.
“This is a golden opportunity for us to compete in the Senior Cup for the first time. We’ve been conducting ourselves well over the last year in general and have been preparing well over the pre-season period including the recruitment of some talented players to bolster our resources at the higher level,” said Ali.
I have every confidence that we will acquit ourselves well over the course of the 2026 season and in doing so, we will take down big name clubs along the way.”
The Meath club will travel to Terenure for the clash which takes place on Saturday at 12pm.
