Close to a thousand registered for Ireland's Largest Rideout 2026 in Kells

Hundreds joined in for Ireland's Largest Rideout in Kells

Almost a thousand bikes rode out for for Ireland’s Largest Rideout 2026 last Sunday (12th April) from Park Ri in Kells on its fifth year running.

Ireland’s Largest Rideout was originally the brainchild of Kells Road Races club member Henry Vaughan as a fundraiser. The club, like many other Road Race clubs, rely heavily on annual fundraising to generate the funds to run their main event each June, the CC’s Unlimited Kells Road Races, with all proceeds of the rideout going towards this event.

There was last minute uncertainty this year as to whether the event should be postponed due to the ongoing fuel crisis but 996 bikes were registered on the day.

“Waking up on Sunday morning, we were delighted to see that the weather played ball with us and we had a lovely day for the event,” Kells Road Races Assistant Chairman Dave McCabe said.

“We were also very lucky to have had the support of several new club members to assist on the day - we simply could not put on a successful event without them, they are a credit to the club.”

“The event would not be possible without the support that we received from the biking community from all over the country, North, South, East & West, Year on year they turn up to support us, this is something that we are very greatful for. Bikers have a fantastic legacy of supporting events and charities - the amount of charity work that bikers do all over the county each year is incredible.”

“The support from the public on the day was fantastic as usual. It was brilliant to see such a large turnout of locals in park Rí and lining the roads along the route to witness the spectacle of such a large number of bikes in procession on our local roads.”

Their focus is now on the 2026 CC’s Unlimited Kells Road Races due to take place on the 20th and 21st June in Crossakiel.

They are currently in the process of creating our Race Programme & welcome enquiries from local businesses who may wish to place an ad within it.
