History created by Boyne CS

History was made in Dunganny on Monday as the Boyne CS Trim captured the North Leinster Schools JF B title following a 2-14 to 2-9 victory over St Mary's DS Drogheda.

From the first whistle, the Trim team showed composure, determination and real quality all over the pitch.

In goals, Shane Govern was outstanding, producing crucial saves at key moments to keep his side in control and launching attacks with his pinpoint kick-outs.

The Boyne defence stood tall throughout, with Seanie Henry and Sam Corkery delivering immense performances. Their tight marking, intelligent reading of the game and fearless tackling laid the foundation for victory.

At midfield, Conal O’Reilly and Ronan Diggins were superb, driving the team forward with powerful runs, winning primary possession and setting the tempo when it mattered most.

Up front, Cormac Walsh, Conor Hassatt and Caolan Comey were clinical and composed, taking their scores with confidence and constantly troubling the opposition defence. Their work rate and sharp finishing proved decisive.

This victory is the result of months of hard work, commitment and belief from the entire panel and management team (Mr Ryan and Mr Lynch). To win their first ever B football championship in the school’s history makes it even more special.

Boyne CS will play a Leinster final in the coming weeks against the South Leinster (Bunclody CC) or Dublin (Malahide) winners who play this Thursday in the Leinster semi-final.
