Infant injured in collision awarded over €13,000
An action was brought following a road collision in which a then 14 year-old Westmeath girl suffered personal injuries, and resulted in a total award of over €13,000 being made in the infant plaintiffs favour on Friday last.
Judge Eirinn McKiernan approved an offer in settlement of the action taken by Jessica Corcoran from Raharney, Westmeath in which The Motor insurers Bureau of Ireland and another party were named as respondents.
The representative for the plaintiff outlined that the now 17 year-old plaintiff suffered soft tissue injuries to her lower back and shoulder which were fully resolved.
The accident took place on 22nd November 2022 on the main Ballivor to Trim Road.
Judge McKiernan ordered that a sum of €12,215 in general damages be paid into court, and a further sum of €932 in special damages be paid out to the girl’s solicitor. She also made an order for costs on the district court scale.
