The 2 Johnnies return to RTE screens tonight
Third series of comedy show shot in Swan's of Skryne
Series three of the award winning, hit comedy entertainment show 'The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock-In' returns to RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player tonight at 9.35pm.
Filmed in Swan's Pub at Oberstown, Skryne, it is described as "an unmissable and unpredictable hour of celebrity guests, live music, stand up comedy and surprise visits to members of the public out and about on the streets of Ireland". There are six episodes in the new series, with local knowledge of the parish of Skryne to be tested in the final show.
To kick off the brand new series of The 2 Johnnies Late Night Lock In, the boys are joined by former champion jockey Davy Russell, the unpredictable and brilliantly funny stand up comic Russell Kane, a game of 'Dating or Related?' on the streets of Laois, while Rose of Tralee - Katelyn Cummins - pops into the bar to judge a special Lock In 'talent competition' and Dan McCabe sings a very special version of 'Grace'.
Johnny B says: "A comedian, a national hero and 2 Johnnies walk into a bar… it’s can only be The Late Night Lock In. There’s no show like it on telly. It’s hot, sweaty and loose. The questions you’d only ask after a few jars, great Irish music and a pub full of nutters up for the craic!"
Johnny Smacks adds: “Somehow they’ve let us back on the telly for series three, and this time we’re dragging the public into the madness with us. More craic, more chaos, and more people embarrassing themselves on national TV — including us. It’s the only show where your neighbour might end up blindfolded, eating cat food, and still call it a great night out. We’ve got brand new madness, even dodgier games, the return of The Parish Quiz and guests who should probably know better. So put on the kettle and get the good biscuits out we will see ya tonight on the telly!”
Davy Russell chats about broken bones and injuries through the years, being the designated driver on nights out, the night his buddy was covered in sheep faeces and had to strip off in the back of Davy's car .... and then they got stopped by a Garda!
Newly crowned Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins is an apprentice electrician. The 2 Johnnies ask her if the guys she works with are treating her any differently now that she's the Rose - she says "they don't give a sh*t" but they like her new car!
Russell Kane chats celebrating his 50th birthday in Ibiza and making a conscious decision to optimise his fitness and health.
In the Parish Quiz Aisling from Killeedy in Co Limerick takes on Tadhg from Nurney in Co Kildare. The prize - a trip to Las Vegas or a bag of spuds is at stake!
