Gallery: Tennis4Cancer event at Trim Tennis Club
Trim Tennis Club (TTC) hosted a Tennis4Cancer (T4C) marathon tennis event in aid of ARC Cancer Support Centres (ARC) and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI), when some €2,268 was raised. The event was coordinated by TTC event managers, Andrea MeKitarian and Mary Mulligan, supported by a whole host of helpers.
T4C was founded in 2018 by Grace Owens of Carrig and Monkstown Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin and has grown from strength to strength since. Last year alone, over 35 tennis clubs across the country participated and raised €110,000 for cancer care and research.
Over 120 Trim Tennis Club members and non-members participated in the event and the courts were fully booked from 10am through to 6pm with adults and juniors playing doubles friendly matches and donating monies to play. As part of the event, members provided culinary delights, the clubhouse was decorated with balloons and music played in the background. Meath Rose of Tralee, Ella Bannon and local Trim TD, Aisling Dempsey, along with photographer Des O'Neill graciously gave their time during the day to play tennis and participate in the event. It was a fantastic community and club event at the organisers thank everyone that donated to this worthy cause.
