Traditional Irish ‘ceol agus craic’ for Kilmainhamwood residents
Kilmainhamwood nursing home residents were hosts to a special concert of traditional Irish ‘ceol agus craic’.
Students from O’Carolan Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in Kells, guided by their teacher Geraldine Smith, entertained nursing home residents with their traditional Irish music concert. They sang and played a selection of tunes on fiddle, accordion, tin whistle and banjo for the staff and residents entertainment. It was an excellent opportunity for the members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann to entertain and share their talents with the staff and residents.
Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is a non-profit cultural movement involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. It is a community and volunteer based organisation which has been providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
