Moynalty start campaign with resounding victory

Moynalty...0-18

Na Fianna... 1-7

Moynalty began their Minor League Division 3 campaign at home to Na Fianna on Monday night, and a late shower of rain immediately before throw in made conditions difficult for both teams from the beginning.

Both sides found their shooting boots despite the slippery conditions, with Seán Mac Mahon and Eoin Gilsenan proving ever reliable infront of goal for the home side. At the interval Moynalty led, 0-9 Na Fianna 0-5.

At the beginning of the second half, Moynalty's defence stood firm, led by Joe McMahon at center back, and it took 20 minutes before Na Fianna registered a score – a goal to cut Moynaltys lead down to five points.

However the lads did not panic and continued to hit some impressive scores to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Goalkeeper Éanna Bennett also made a brilliant late one on one save to help leave the North Meath retain their winning margin.

Moynalty travel to Slane next Monday for their second league match, with throw in at 6.45pm.
