Bright start lays foundation for Moynalty win

Moynalty quickly hit the ground running against Kilmainhamwood, notching up 1-2 in the opening five minutes of this A FL Div 5 encounter.

Kian Lynch scoring the goal, after instinctively catching the ball in front of goal and blasting past the Kilmainhamwood goalkeeper. Cormac Kearney added a fine goal from an acute angle on the 20 minute mark to put Moynalty 2-5 to 0-1 up, and firmly on the driving seat.

Ollie Sheridan impressed throughout the first half kicking three points and at the interval Moynalty led 2-8 to Kilmainhamwood's 0-3.

The second half saw seven different Moynalty players getting on the scoresheet, with the pick of the scores a long range effort from Anto Nevin.

Paddy Gallagher was the pick of the defenders on the night, making his first start of the year he found himself up and down the pitch and set up plenty of attacks in the final third as well as keeping the Kilmainhamwood defenders quiet on the night.

The win ensured Moynalty chalked up one win from two in the league so far, as they move towards the Tailteann Shield final next Wednesday against Cortown.
