Man seriously injured in alleged assault in Tipperary town

Two men have been arrested following an incident in which a third man was seriously injured in Co Tipperary.

The alleged assault happened on a roadway outside Greenane Drive in Tipperary town during the early hours of Tuesday.

Gardaí said a man in his 40s was seriously injured at around 2am, and was taken from the scene to University Hospital Limerick where he is understood to be in a serious but stable condition.

Two men, both aged in their 30s, were arrested on Tuesday morning and have been detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
