Before and after.....Mila Lipscombe donated 12 inches of her hair to the Princess Trust the day before her fourth birthday.

Mila (4) donates locks of hair to help Laura Lynn

Well done to Mila Lipscombe from Carrickleck, Nobber, who donated 12 inches of her beautiful long blond hair to the Princess Trust, and has also raised over €1,000 for 'Locks of Love for LauraLynn'.

Ready for the chop....brave Mila parted with her hair for a great cause for her fourth birthday.

A daughter of Lisa and Richard Lipscombe, Mila just turned four on 5th November and is big sister to Hannah (3).

Proud mum Lisa told how Mila had been looking at photos on her phone of humanitarian trips she went on to Haiti and they chatting about helping other people and Mila said she wanted to go to Haiti to help too. Instead, Lisa suggested she could think about donating her hair to make wigs for children who lost their hair to cancer or other illness.

After..Mila shows off her new hairstyle and the hair she is donating to the Princess Trust to make wigs for children who lose their hair to cancer and other illnesses.

So the day before she turned four, Mila went to Drumonconrath hairdresser Denise Mooney for her very first hair cut and was delighted to be able to donate 12 inches of hair to the Princess Trust.

"She was going to wait until Christmas but then decided to do it for her birthday. She was so ready to have it done. She was happy out and loves her new new hair style," said Lisa.

As well as donating her hair, Mila also fundraised for Laura Lynn with an idonate page set up for the fundraiser which has so far raised €1,000. You can still make a donation at www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/MilaLipscombe
