August opening for East Meath Primary Care Centre

The East Meath Primary Care Centre, which has been plagued with delays is expected to be operational by August, according to the latest update received by Louth and East Meath TD Fergus O'Dowd.

“The HSE have also confirmed that the contractor is due to handover the premises to the HSE in the coming weeks. Over the summer months, the HSE will begin equipping and commissioning the facility to ready it for the August opening," said Deputy O'Dowd.

“This vital project for the East Meath area has obviously been hit with multiple delays but it’s a relief that we now have the finish line in sight.

“This centre when fully operational will provide a wide range of much needed services in the area including Public Health Nursing, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Counselling, Podiatry, Diabetes and services for Older People.”

Meanwhile, plans for a solar farm development on an almost 19 hectares site in Duleek have been given the green light by Meath County Council.

Highfield Solar Limited has been granted a 10-year permission for the construction of a solar PV energy development within a total site area of approximately 18.92ha, including solar PV panels ground mounted on steel support structures, IPP electrical control building and associated compound, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, battery storage modules, storage containers, CCTV cameras, access tracks, fencing and associated electrical cabling, ducting and ancillary infrastructure, at Downestown, Duleek.
