Horgan and Trim Celtic continue to pick up the honours

Evan when they are not playing Trim Celtic continue to add to their collection of honours.

Last week manager Robbie Horgan won the 'Coach of the Year' accolade at the Meath Chronicle Sports Awards after guiding the Hoops to a NEFL Premier League and Challenge Cup double in 2022.

At the NEFL Annual General Meeting Horgan was named the 'Manager of the Year' for the way he has turned the Tully Park-based club into a highly efficient, formidable unit.

There was also another reason for the double champions to be pleased as striker Aaron Williams claimed the 'Player of the Year' award.

Jason Sheerin was named the 'Referee of the Year' while the 'Club of the Year' were Kingscourt Harps with Aaron Dale of Chord Celtic named the 'Div 1 Player of the Year'.

At the AGM the outgoing Committee were also re-elected. The committee for 2023 is made up of David Tully; Gerry Gorman; John Gorman; Tommy Melia; Paddy Mulreid; Derek Coogan, Eugene Lynch, Danny Doyle, Steve Laverty, Damien Clarke, Conrad Clinton Yvonne Brady and John Campbell with two new additional members nominated on the night: Justin Burke of Oldcastle, and Paul Brennan, Kingscourt Harps.

The Executive Committee at their first meeting shall elect a chairman, secretary, treasurer, registrar, PRO, and representatives to FAI and LFA in accordance with the rules of each association, and various other appointments as deemed necessary.
