Body of Athboy man reported missing has been located

Following the discovery of a man’s body earlier today in Athboy, the missing person appeal in respect of 74-year-old Patrick Cavigan has been stood down.

Gardaí have confirmed the sad news this afternoon.

In a statement, gardaí said: “We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this matter.”
