Turning colder over the weekend with some possible frost and fog at times too. So says the latest update from Met Éireann.

Cloudy today with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Drier intervals in the eastern half of the country through this morning and towards the south later in the evening, with the odd sunny spell. Highest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Mostly dry tonight with clear spells and patches of mist and drizzle in the west. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in moderate southerly winds.

Tomorrow most areas will be dry with limited sunny spells, with a few light showers feeding into east and southeast areas. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees generally, in light to moderate southeast breezes.

Mostly dry and cloudy overnight on Thursday with patchy rain along Atlantic coasts. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light southerly breezy breezes.

Most areas will be dry with mostly cloudy conditions on Friday, however a few light showers will feed into east and southeast counties. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees generally, in light to moderate southeast breezes.

Again mostly dry on Friday night with cloudy conditions. Mist and fog patches forming as winds fall light and variable.

Current indications suggest that this weekend will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. Light to moderate northeasterly breezes developing. Becoming colder with highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees. Cold and frosty nights are likely too.
