Katie's Hair-oics for LauraLynn

One of Meath Ladies biggest and proudest supporters has proved to be a hero herself after raising over €1,000 for LauraLynn.

Katie McWeeney (10), who along with her siblings, Cormac and Tom play hurling with Drumree and football with Dunshaughlin, cut her hair for LauraLynn & the Princess Trust and has raised over €1,000 thanks to the generosity of our friends and family.

According to mum Elaine, Katie, who goes to Gaelscoil na Rithe in Dunshaughlin, is a massive Meath football supporter, with flags painted on her bedroom walls; Meath bedcovers; every jersey, training kit along with continually striving to improve and be the best player and team mate.

"She is inspired not only by players present but also past not least by her aunty Suzanne McCormack who put in 10 years with the Meath Seniors losing the Div 1 League Final in 2006 by the narrowest of margins!" Katie comes from a real sporting dysnasty with aunt Catherine and also having represented their county at Junior level.

Her uncle John played underage for Leitrim, grandad Philip was the first player of the year for Kilmainhamwood who is a nephew of Sean McCormack who captained Meath in the 60’s and cousin of Larry McCormack.
