A reunion to remember at the Bawn Inn

It was a night to remember recently at the Bawn Inn when former footballers with a number of Meath soccer clubs got together to recall the old times. The glory years.

Players who turned out in the colours of Corbawn Utd, Riverbank FC and Spartans FC met up at the Bawn Inn outside Athboy, the location where various teams played their home games on adjoining pitches.

"There was even a New York feel to the evening with the surprise drop in of Pat Murtagh who was the first Corbawn team captain back in 1982. He flew in to be part of the celebration," explained Johnny Regan who turned out for Corbawn back in the day.

"The people who showed up also included former Riverbank manager Kieran Perry. All those in attendance contributed to a fantastic night of great craic," added Regan.

"Anthony Farrell former Meath League representative and proprietor of the Bawn Inn and his staff provided a warm welcome along with enough food and drink to add to this truly memorable night."

"The night was capped off with the presence of MDL (NEFL) stalwarts Gerry Gorman, and Eugene Lynch."
