More bogus callers to homes claiming to be gardai

Gardai are investigating another bogus caller incident, this time in Oristown, where two men called to an elderly woman's home purporting to be gardai.

On this occasion, the woman became suspicious and did not let them in, and the men left the scene.

The incident occurred at 1.20pm last Wednesday, 30th March at Oristown, Kells. Two men called to the door wearing facemasks and showed the woman something that looked like a badge. Like in some of the previous incidents, they claimed to have found a sum of money. The woman didn't let them in and they fled in a dark coloured car.

People are reminded to stay vigilant in relation to callers to their door and always ask for ID. If in any doubt contact Gardai.
