New development planned for Navan

More homes are on the way for Navan with Bord Pleanala recently giving the go ahead for a development of houses and duplex apartments on lands on the Trim Road. However, the board refused permission for a portion of development, issuing a split decision on the application.

A strategic housing development application was lodged with an Bord Pleanala last year by ES Corella Creek Ltd for 132 residential units and a childcare facility on lands off the Trim Road, on the opposite side to Beechmount and Balreask Village. The plans included 60 houses and 72 apartments.

Bord Pleanala recently ruled on the application, granting permission for part of the development but refusing permission for the portion that was proposed on land subject to a land use zoning objective 'A2 not available for development until post 2027'. This meant that one four-storey apartment block of 36 units, six houses and one duplex unit were refused permission, while the remainder of the application was granted permission.
