Mooney double helps to sustain the dream

They needed to win and that's exactly what Kells Celtic Youths did at Oldcastle today overcoming the home side 4-1 to sustain their hopes of claiming the NEFL Div 2 title.

With the season really hotting up Kells Celtic arrived in Oldcastle and stood up to the cool, difficult conditions and the formidable challenge of the home side to win with defender Craig Mooney getting two goals, both from the penalty spot.

The victory means Kells Celtic Youths now need to win their last game of the season - against Bailieboro next weekend - to make sure of the Div 2 title.

Kuba Bidzinski gave the visitors the lead with the help of further goals from Mooney and Carl Jordan they led 3-1 at the break. Another calmly-taken penalty from Mooney in the second-half sealed the win.

Oldcastle did pull a goal back in that opening half from Johnny Boylan but it proved a mere consolation. Ciaran Healy and CJ Healy were brilliant for Oldcastle in terms of their application and determination but the game was deservedly won by the visitors.
