Gallery: A Day at the Laytown Races

It was a historic occasion for Meath's coastline - not only was it the day the County Council decided to permanently ban beach parking, it was also the first time the Laytown Races were broadcast live on national television with TG4 showing the action last Monday afternoon.

It is the only event run on a beach under the Rules of Racing, and usually takes place over one day in September. Having been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, however, the spectacle returned at the later date of 1st November this year.
