Lithuanian-born designer Asta Jakubson has produced electromagnetic-force clothing that she says is not only practical, but fashionable.

Fashion designer’s virus fighting clothing range inspired by the tragic loss of her mother to Covid-19

A FASHION designer from Dunshaughlin says she made it her mission to create a range of virus fighting clothing after she tragically lost her mother to Covid last year.

Asta Jakubson revealed the devastation of not being able to hug her mum goodbye or tell her that she loved her in person before she passed away in Lithuania after testing positive for coronavirus.

Asta’s mum Genovaite Jakubson (75), contracted the virus in hospital after being admitted for high blood pressure in March.

As a result, the Lithuanian-born designer set out to produce electromagnetic-force clothing that she says is not only practical, but fashionable. "I don't want anyone to feel the pain of losing a loved one so I have created a collection with huge health benefits to protect all of us.”

The garments are handmade in Ireland from 99.9% sustainable silver fibres that aid against colds and viruses and protects the body from harmful radiation and electromagnetic waves in electronic gadgets.

She debuted her collection, ‘Be Powerful Not Powerless,’ centred around the French heroine Joan of Arc at a fashion event at Cannes Film Festival.

The international award-winning fashion designer showcased her millinery expertise through a host of charming headwear. Models graced the runway wearing crystal-embellished mesh veils.

"Joan of Arc inspired me for my collection as a woman warrior.

“People in the stone age and metal age understood that silver gave them something good and they started wearing it around their neck, they didn’t know what it was, but they felt better.

“Silver contains ions that aid against colds and viruses. It protects the body from harmful radiation and electromagnetic waves in electronic gadgets such as Wi-Fi, mobile phones and microwaves. It regulates body temperature especially during menopause and protects your heart and lungs and reduces stress.

“Many people rubbish the idea but there is no denying the health benefits of silver, for many years there have special bracelets available with silver ions that help control our blood pressure because the medical world understands the benefits.

“If you can do something small like wear an item of clothing that could help protect your health than surely that is something positive.”
