Premier title win for Navan boys

Although they were unaware of the facts before kick-off, it emerged that a win for Parkvilla against Navan Town Cosmos would be sufficient to seal the NECSL under-15 Premier League title and they delivred with a 4-2 victory.

And it didn't start well for Parkvilla as Navan Town Cosmos came flying out of the blocks and were two up inside 15 minutes.

Just on half-time a lapse in concentration from Navan Town Cosmos gave the hosts a chance and Evan Reilly produced a fine finish.

Muddi Khan got the important equaliser on 36 minutes as the Commons Road lads started to press and look for a winner against their town rivals.

The third goal on 50 minutes by Tiernan Black sealed the victory.

Dylan Buckle had the opportunity to wrap up the points from a 65th minute penalty, but his spot kick was saved before Sean McNally knocked in the rebound.

Best for the newly-crowned were Alex Connick, Fawaz Adewunmi, James Donnelly and Shaun O’Reilly.

Big shout out to Nathan De Kleer who went between the sticks in the second half and looked very assured as Parkvilla claimed the title.
