Motorcyclist dies following horror Co, Louth crash

A man who was critically injured in a road crash over the weekend has passed away.

The 22-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after the collision on the N2, Edmonstown, Co Louth, on Saturday.

Two men in the car, aged in their 30s and 60s, were treated at the scene.

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information on the collision to contact them.

A spokesperson said:

"The male motorcyclist (22 years) who was in a critical condition from injuries sustained in a serious road traffic collision on the N2, Edmonstown, Co Louth, on Saturday, 11th September, 2021, has since passed away.

"Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who were travelling on the N2 in the townland of Edmonstown, Louth on Saturday evening 11th September between 8pm and 8:30pm and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to Gardai.
