Walk-in vaccination clinic at Simonstown tomorrow

The Simonstown Community Vaccination Centre Navan is running a walk in clinic tommorrow (Friday 10th September) from 9am-5pm and encourages as many 12-15 year olds, as possible who are due their second dose to attend.

For the next three weeks Simonstown CVC will be running walk in clinics every Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 1pm-5pm to accommodate students with half days from school to come and complete their vaccinations.

Meanwhile the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) has recommended that a booster vaccine dose against Covid-19 be given to over 65s living in residential care and anyone over the age of 80.

NIAC has recommended a booster dose of an mRNA vaccine for the two groups, even if their first vaccine was AstraZeneca.

The booster dose can be given after an interval of six months after the primary vaccination course was completed.

NIAC issued its recommendation to Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan, who endorsed the advice.
