First Galway Festival winner for Shane Crawley

Tara trainer Shane Crawley enjoyed his first Galway success today when landing the opening race on the Ballybrit card with Nodoubtaboutthat.

A €5,000 purchase at the Tattersalls NH sales in 2018, the now six-year-old won a handicap hurdle in KIlbeggan last September.

Today, with claimer Tom Kelly on board, Nodoubtaboutthat landed a mares handicap hurdle for a Dublin syndicate.

"The syndicate aren't here today as one of the members, Michael Griffin, buried his mother Mae Griffin this morning," stated the trainer to irishracing.com.

"They saw her work last week and said 'let her run, it'll be all for luck', so it was a very special win and it's an emotional day for all of them.

"I've only ever had one runner at the festival and that's my first winner," he added.
