Bishop confirms Confirmation ceremonies will take place this Summer

Schools have received communication from Bishop of Meath Tom Deenihan with regards to dates for Confirmation ceremonies.

According to the Government's Resilience and Recovery roadmap, from 5th July first communions, confirmations and baptisms may take place. Related family gatherings should strictly adhere to prevailing public health advice on household mixing, including visitors to your home and indoor and outdoor dining. Any decision to schedule such ceremonies should take account of the disease situation in the local community.

"Yesterday, advice was received from the Government that the Sacrament of Confirmation may resume in July but subject to strict protocols within the Church. Ceremonies will take place between July 1st and August 27th," said Bishop Deenihan.

He added that Dates for parishes would be confirmed within the next few days at which point schools would be notified.
