Behind closed doors action at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday

Fast and furious could be the NFL theme for 2021

Navan, Armagh and Castlebar - the venues where Meath's standing for the 2022 NFL will be determined over the next three weekends as the National Football League hits the ground in a condensed format from this weekend.

Armagh, unusually, is the venue for the away game against Down as the Mournemen must travel for their sole 'home' game when they tackle Meath on Sunday week.

However, before that it's a showdown against Westmeath at Pairc Tailteann this Sunday.

2020 FORM - Mayo and Meath were relegated from Division 1, Down were promoted from Division 3 and Westmeath finished fourth in Division 2.

This is the first year since 1997 that Mayo are in Division 2, having enjoyed the longest spell of any county in the top flight since then before dropping out after taking only five of 14 points last year.

Meath fared even worse, taking only one point from seven games.

Mayo (seventh Div 1): Played 7, Won 2, Drew 1 Lost 4.

Down (second Div 3): Played 7, Won 4, Drew 1, Lost 2.

Meath (eighth Div 1): Played 7, Won 0, Drew 1, Lost 6.

Westmeath (fourth Div 2): Played 7, Won 3, Dree 1 Lost 3.
