Enjoying the training at the MDL last night - can't beat a good laugh.

Action stations at the MDL on Monday night

The preparations were ongoing for the past few days as North East Football League officials prepared to welcome back the under-age teams to training at the MDL on Monday evening.

Children around the country returned to football pitches on Monda following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions around Ireland and the MDL in Navan was a hive of activity.

Under-18 teams and younger returned to non-contact training in pods of 15 or fewer for the first time this year.

FAI President Gerry McAnaney added that the work done in previous months led to Monday's opening.

“The clubs deserve a huge amount of praise for their patience in recent months," said the FAI president.

"They made sure the grounds were Covid compliant, it will be a real thrill to see the pitches around the country busy once more,” he added.
