Short head enough for Swiss Swoo

Trainer Denise Foster made it into the number one spot at Dundalk this evening when the Fergal Moore-owned Swiss Swoo swept home with a late challenge.

That late surge was enough to eclipse the 100/1 chance Newpark trained in Thurles by Hilary McLoughlin to land a seven-furlong maiden by a short-head with the favourite back in third place.

Running for only the second time after and encouraging debut at the end of January, the three-year-old colt delivered for jockey Billy Lee over a distance shorter than the trainer's preference.

“He's for sale and that'll do no harm, the plan before tonight was to go for a mile maiden in two weeks time, as he really wants a mile," commented the trainer who is based near Enfield.
