Flooding risk with Status Yellow rain warning in effect

There is currently a Status Yellow Rainfall Warning in place until 2pm in Meath, Dublin, Wicklow and Louth.

It’s currently slow into Navan on the N51 Slane Rd and the Kingscourt Rd (R162) approaching the Round O R/A. There are also delays into the town on the Ratholdren, Kentstown and Trim Rds. Southbound traffic is heavy on the N2 through Kilmoon Cross.

With a high risk of spot flooding this morning, remember to slow down on wet roads and watch out for wind-blown debris. Leave plenty of space between your vehicle and the one in front and be extra mindful of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.

Met Eireann says it will be cool and blustery today with showers and longer spells of rain. There will be heavy bursts in places and some localised flooding is possible. However, there will be some dry and sunny periods also. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty mainly northerly wind.

Continuing cool and breezy overnight with clear spells and showers. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees in fresh to strong northwest winds.

Friday will see bright, fresh and breezy conditions with sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers will become increasingly isolated later in the day. Top temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh northwest breezes.
