Bective GAA club's veteran lotto co-ordinator Breeda Kinsella handed over a cheque for €6,400 to Brian Cody who selected the right numbers at the first attempt.

Brian Cody hits the jackpot with Bective

It's all about hitting the jackpot at the first attempt as far as Brian Cody is concerned.

Who?

Brian Cody.

No, not that Brian Cody.

The other Brian Cody who earlier this month signed up with Bective GAA club for an intial 12-month stint.

Not that it will have an immediate impact on the results on the pitch for the well-regarded Meath club.

"Brian signed up earlier this month for an annual subscription to our weekly lotto and instantly hit the jackpot when his numbers came up in the draw," explained Breeda Kinsella who is a member of the co-ordinating committe for the weekly lotto.

It was a good week to win the lotto as the jackpot returned €6,400 to Brian Cody who is based in Navan.

The jackpot wasn't won this week - the numbers drawn were 5,9,15,23, next week's jackpot stands at €1,100.

Explaining how she got involved with the club Ms Kinsella recalled the occasion: "I was "roped" in by the late John Moran RIP about 27 years ago and I'm still there, I must be doing a good job," she said.

Just to show that she is doing a good job, she added

"Our Drive in Bingo will hopefully go ahead on Sunday 11th October, all being well, it's our 10th anniversary so perhaps the week after next the Meath Chronicle might be able to promote it for us."

Fair to suggest that Ms Kinsella is "doing a good job" and looking good for the next 27 years perhaps?
