The building will include a lifeguard station, public toilets and disability facilities

Local Fine Gael Councillor Sharon Tolan has welcomed the news that Part 8 Planning for the new Bettystown Library has commenced this week.

The planning documents will be on display at Meath County Council Headquarters in Buvinda House in Navan, along with a model of the building.

The new architecturally designed building will include a lifeguard station, public toilets and disability facilities on the ground floor, with two floors of public library, community meeting rooms, study room, multipurpose rooms and staff areas.

The plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase from Wednesday 1st July to Wednesday 29th July during office opening hours in Navan.

“I have been highlighting the need for a public library since I was first elected in 2014, and have been working with the council on possible locations. I am delighted that we have been able to incorporate a state-of-the-art library facility in the new beach building at Bettystown.

It’s an exciting time for the local community to finally be able to see the prospect of a library in the area. I look forward to working on progressing this and seeing it delivered for the community.” said Tolan.
