Tullamore Show 2020 cancelled

The Tullamore FBD National Livestock Show committee has announced the cancellation of the show for this year, due to the unprecedented and exceptional circumstances regarding the COVID 19 pandemic.

The committee says: "The wellbeing of all the people has to be the priority, especially for the most vulnerable in our society.

"We have given much consideration to the very challenging circumstances of our sponsors, competitors, exhibitors, supporters, service providers, landowners, committees and all involved at this time.  A huge amount of preparation and planning is done by our competitors, trade exhibitors, show committee and volunteers of the Show.  Delaying the inevitable decision would only add to their pressures, so we had to make the decision now.  We acknowledge and appreciate the loyalty of our many and long term sponsors, including FBD, our title sponsor.

"The Show is very dependent on many people firms and organisations. We very much appreciate that the development and success of the Tullamore Show & FBD National Livestock Show is reliant on the great support and co operation of many people, who have been with us down through the years.  We are also blessed with a loyal team of regular supporters and many visitors each year, both national and international.  We are very disappointed that for this year, we will not be able to enjoy the show together on the second Sunday in August on Butterfield Estate and we want to especially thank everyone for all their support and understanding. However, the priority, especially for this year, is to stay safe and healthy. "

Brenda Kiernan, chairperson of the show, wishes to thank everybody for their understanding in this difficult situation.   On Sunday 8th August 2021,  a bigger and better show is promised, that will more than compensate for this year’s unfortunate cancellation.
