Davis family grateful for expressions of sympathy

Former Meath Chronicle managing director, Jack Davis, and family, have said they are very grateful for the prayers and thoughts expressed to them since the death of his wife, Margot, at the weekend.

Margot Davis (nee Kiernan), 'Echnach', Donaghmore, Navan and late of Suffolk Street, Kells, after many years of various illness and loss of sight finally succumbed at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, in the presence of her beloved husband Jack and the wonderful and caring hospital staff, on Saturday evening, Margot's death notice states.

Margot was former editor of the Meath Chronicle's Modern Woman magazine, and founder of Meath Mental Health and Housing.

Pre-deceased by her much loved daughter Sarah, brother James, sisters Mary Moss and Olivia Lynham, she is survived by Jack; their sons, John, Paul and Edward; daughters, Georgina and Marguerite; sons-in-law, Geoff and Denny; daughter-in-law, Gillian, grandsons, Jamie and Jason; granddaughters Sandra and Zoe; sisters,  Carmel Lavelle, Dublin, and Cabrini Doyle, Dunsany, nephews, nieces, relatives, her many colleagues, friends, charity workers and clients.

Due to Government advice on public gatherings, a private funeral Mass will take place in St Mary's Church on Wednesday, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium. A Memorial Service and interment of ashes will take place at a later date to honour Margot for her service to her work and charities throughout Meath.
