Trainer Keith Clarke

Daylight success for Keith Clarke at Dundalk

Racing at Dundalk today had the unusual addition of natural light and it proved a good omen for Meath trainer Keith Clarke.

The aptly-named Getgo won for the second time the Louth track and took the lead two out for jockey Gearoid Brouder.

The six-year-old, which won as a juvenile at Brighton in 2016, won by half a length from Roman Warrior with the John McConnell-trained Mere Ironmonger a close third.

“I'm delighted, this time about two years ago it was similar as he hit form and was consistent in his runs,” said Clarke.

“I'm delighted for the owner Karl Davis who has been very patient with me and things have come right.

“I'm delighted to get it especially in the circumstances, with the way things are, as we don't know if racing is going to go ahead next week," he added.

Another Meath man on the mark was Declan McDonogh who won on Juliet Rose for trainer Joseph O'Brien.

Meath owner James McAuley saw his 'claimer' from the Ger Lyons yard last August Tony The Gent win for the second time in a month with another McAuley runner, Yuften, in second place.
