Sudden passing of Nuala Smyth widely mourned

The communities of Navan and Trim are in shock following the sudden death at her Trim home on Saturday of Nuala Smyth, of a well-known business and sporting family.

Wife of former Navan O'Mahonys GAA club chairman and butcher, Pat, she ran Moriarty's Pub in Navan Shopping Centre, named after her family.

She delighted to see her son, Paddy, lift the Keegan Cup as Navan O'Mahonys captain in 2008.

Formerly Moriarty, and a native of Curraheen, Tralee, Co Kerry, her relatives include nephew, former Kerry footballer and current Wexford manager, Paul Galvin. The family previously lived at Dunmoe, Navan.

Predeceased by her daughter, Niamh, and son, Conor, her parents Cathy and Dan, and brothers John, Muris and Paddy, Nuala wil be sadly missed by her husband, Pat, daughters, Aoife, Grainne, Kate, son, Paddy, son-in-law, Donal, grandchildren, Cormac, Cillian, Shay, Ódhran and Muireann; sisters, Eileen, Joan, Mary and Kathleen; sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and her many dear neighbours and friends.

Nuala remains will repose at her home, De Granville Court, Trim, C15 E22, from 3pm this Wednesday afternoon. Removal on Thursday morning to St Mary's Church, Navan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Navan. House private for family time all day Tuesday and Thursday morning.
