Leinster awards for athletes Dunne and Callaghan

Bohermeen AC's Karen Dunne and Cushinstown's Amy Callaghan were recipients of Leinster awards in Athlone last Saturday night.

Dunne was a recipient of the Leinster senior award for Meath in Athlone on Saturday night at the annual provincial awards.

Dunne hasd been competing since the age of 9 in championship athletics and last summer took third place in the National senior outdoor 400m hurdles and is regarded as one of the top combined events athletes in Ireland.

She currently holds 10 Bohermeen senior club records and now looks forward to the Leinster senior indoor National championships in the coming weeks.

Amy Callaghan (Cushinstown AC) was Leinster juvenile award recipient for Meath for her achievements at the Leinster indoor and outdoor championships in 2019.

At the Leinster indoors and outdoor championships she claimed two gold medals for shot, two silver for high jump, silver for javelin and combined events.
