Three men arrested after Cash In Transit robbery

Three men were arrested today as a result of investigations conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) assisted by Security & Intelligence Section targeting Cash in Transit (CIT) robberies.

The men, aged 35, 33 and 30 were arrested at approximately 3pm today, (Monday 6th January) following the interception of two vehicles on the N3 at Clonee, Co. Meath immediately after a robbery with firearm of a Cash in Transit van delivery in Clonee, Co. Meath.

A cash box containing €30,000, imitation firearm and electronic signal blocker have been recovered.

All three suspects were arrested for organised crime offences and are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Finglas and Ashbourne Garda Stations.
