Ardboyne Hotel on market for €3.5 million

The landmark Ardboyne Hotel and wedding venue in Navan is for sale with a guide price of €3.5 million. Licensed and leisure property specialists Lisney (incorporating Morrissey’s) are selling the well-known and popular hotel premises on behalf of the Cusack Family who have traded successfully here for the past 15 years.

The Ardboyne occupies an excellent trading position over-looking the River Boyne enjoying ease of access via the N3 / M3 to the south east edge of Navan town, on the Dublin Road.
The property is a substantial purpose built 29-bedroom 3 Star hotel incorporating the impressive old world style Kells bar, Hugo’s restaurant with 100 covers, a banqueting suite suitable for 300 people, three meeting rooms and a former nightclub with capacity for 450. The property also enjoys extensive car parking facilities and landscaped gardens.
Importantly the property has a positive planning history including expired permission for a substantial extension to include a leisure complex and 26 additional bedrooms.
Shane Markey, who is handling the sale, comments that The Ardboyne Hotel represent an exceptional opportunity to acquire a well-regarded business that provides an ideal base from which to either grow the existing high volume trade or scope to develop the property and re-position the business. Opened in the mid 1970s, previous owners include Hugh O’Reilly, Gerry Gilhooley, and prior to the Cusacks, controversial businessman Sean Quinn, who also built the Quinn Direct offices across the river, now Buvinda House, the headquarters of Meath County Council.

Further details and viewing arrangements are available through Lisney (incorporation Morrissey’s). Close of offers in the private treaty sale is Thursday 21st November, at 3pm.
