Harvest celebration at Sheridan's Station on Saturday

Sheridan’s Cheesemongers Harvest Day Celebration takes place in their Meath shop at Virginia Road Station on Saturday 7th September.

Sheridan’s Harvest Day is a celebration of the annual harvest and is part of the Boyne Valley Food Series- a calendar of events which celebrates our land, our heritage, our people, and of course our produce.
It is an informal market, where anyone can bring the fruits of their labour to buy, sell, or barter with their local food community. This allows consumers a chance to connect with local growers and learn about where their food comes from. It promises to be a fantastic family day out with plenty of yummy local produce.

Sheridans Cheesemongers is run by its’ owners – Kevin Sheridan and Seamus Sheridan. The company was founded in 1995, when brothers Seamus and Kevin started selling Irish farmhouse cheeses at the Galway market. Since their first foray into the world of cheese from a small market stall, the business expanded to include a total of seventeen establishments with the most recent establishments opening in Naas, Co Kildare, and in the Ilac Centre, Dublin.

Sheridan’s Meath shop is adjoined to their warehouse and head-office in the townland of Pottlereagh on the Meath-Cavan border. The site was formerly the Virginia Road railway station. Sheridans received the Ellison award from An Taisce for their work in renovating and conserving the old railway store. This large stone building now houses their largest retail shop displaying Sheridan’s famous selection of quality cheeses, foods and wines.

Every Saturday they host a small market for local food producers including a butcher, local fruit and veg growers and many more.

On the last Sunday of every May Sheridans host their now famous Irish food Festival. The festival is a family day celebrating the best of Irish food including many of their best known producers from around the country.
