Action from Donaghmore/Ashbourne v Summerhill.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne conquer the 'Hill

Donaghmore/Ashbourne put in a big performance to get the better of Summerhill by 1-15 to 1-10  in this SFC encounter at Dunshaughlin this evening.

Gabriel Brannigan's side trailed 1-7 to 1-8 at the interval but the put in a hard-grafting second-half display to get the better of last year's defeated finalists.

Dylan Brady scored an early goal for Donaghmore/Ashbourne but with the help of a five points from Barry Dardis as well as scores from Kevin Ryan, Seanie Dalton and Liam Shaw, Summerhill stayed very much in contention with their cause further helped by John Lavelle firing to the net just before the break.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne had the drive and the firepower to turn chances into scores with Paul Gilligan, Brady and Stephen Carton helping themselves to three points apiece over the course of the hour. Bryan Menton (two), Darragh McGovern (two) and Shaun Byrne also contributed. Another point-scorer for the winners was Andrew Tormey who came on as a second-half substitute.

Summerhill struggled to get the ball into their forwards in the second-half (they could only muster two more points from Kevin Ryan and Dardis ) as a well-organised Donaghmore/Ashbourne marched to victory and showed they will be a real force to be reckoned with again this year.
