Two talented young musicians for Tullynally

The second Derravaragh Music Association concert in the 2018-9 season will feature two of Ireland’s most talented young musicians, violinist, Patrick Rafter and pianist, Michael McHale at Tullynally Castle. 
Patrick Rafter has toured Europe, Asia and America as concert violinist, chamber and orchestral musician, and currently studies under Maxim Vengerov and Oleg Kaskiv at the International Menuhin Music Academy Switzerland. In 2016,  Patrick was awarded first prize at the Valiant International Violin Competition in Switzerland. Patrick has performed as a soloist with the RTE Symphony Orchestra, Mannheim Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, Kiev Soloist, the London Mozart Players and Prague Philarmonia among others. 
Belfast-born Michael McHale has established himself as one of Ireland’s leading pianists and has developed a busy international career as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. He has performed as a soloist with the Minnesota, Hallé, Moscow Symphony and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras, City of London Sinfonia, London Mozart Players and all five of the major Irish orchestras. He has performed at the Tanglewood and Tokyo Spring Festivals, Wigmore Hall, London, Berlin Konzerthaus, Lincoln Center, New York, Symphony Hall, Boston and Pesti Vigadó in Budapest.
The programme for the concert on 24th November  includes works by JS Bach, Mozart, Franck and Ravel.
Doors open at 7.15pm and the concert starts at 8pm.
