Oisin McConville special guest at addiction fundraiser in Navan

All-star Armagh All-Ireland winning footballer Oisin McConville will be in Navan on Friday 9th November as a special guest at a gala fundraising lunch for Sr Catherine Lillis, the founder of the Tabor House addiction centre in Navan. Proceeds from the luncheon will be used to support Sr Catherine's vision to develop and provide a residential supportive environment for addicted women in early recovery.
The event is organised by a volunteer committee, hosted by the Board of Tabor House Trust.
McConville, who won an All-Ireland SFC medal with Armagh in 2002, has spoken openly about his gambling addiction which almost drove him to suicide. Indeed, it is an addiction believed to be prevalent amongst many young GAA players today.
Simonstown clubman and Irish Independent sports writer, Colm Keyes, will act as MC for the luncheon in the Newgrange Hotel,
which promises "inspiration, sporting views and reviews, excellent dining and
prizes for every table, and entertainment to finish the event".
Sr Catherine Lillis will also speak on her vision, and Colm Keyes will ask: "So what now for Gaelic football….?"
