Stacey Grimes in action for Meath - she will be bidding for club glory at Ashbourne on Saturday.

Ladies senior football final on Saturday

Players from Seneschalstown and Simostown will be in action on Saturday at Ashbourne in the Meath GAA Ladies SFC final, 4pm.

Seneschalstown made it to the final by getting the better of defending champions Oldcastle by 0-14 to 1-8 in their semi-final at Bective on Saturday.

Meath star Stacey Grimes was the star of the show for the Yellow Furze side while Mary Sheridan, Louise McKeever and Mena Sheridan also excelled.

Grimes chipped in with eight points as Seneschalstown built up a substantial lead before Oldcastle clawed their way back into contention with Orla Smith and Chloe McNamee in fine form.

However, Seneschalstown held on and ran out deserving winners.

Simonstown made amends for their shock loss to Boardsmill the previous week by romping to a 1-19 to 1-4 victory over last year's beaten finalists.

Inspired by Kelly Harris, Kelsey Nesbitt, Lauryn Grier, Naoise DeGraaff, Jackie Shiels and Katie Bellew, the Simonstown Gaels players took full advantage of understrength Boardsmill to secure their place in a senior final for the first time.
