Appealing ladies or Ladies appealing?

Meath Ladies football was the focus of attention two weeks ago with the All-Ireland final appearance at Croke Park and on the club scene locally there is also plenty of APPEAL(S) in the Junior A Championship.

However, the nature of the APPEAL(S) is in the form of protests and objections and of course then there is the APPEALS process - you just can't beat a good old appeal.

All this appears to have had a major impact on the fixture list and the semi-finals that were apparently fixed for earlier tonight were postponed only hours after they were scheduled.

Navan O'Mahonys v Dunsany

Duleek/Bellewstown v Moylagh

I'm working backwards here now so hopefully you can keep up with me - I'll go slow and that will assist (me more than you).

It is understood that the above mentioned semi-finals were postponed after Skryne appealed a Meath Co Board decision to elimiante them from the semi-finals.- although they didn't reach them in the first instance!

Skryne had been promoted to the semi-final after Meath Co Board eliminated Navan O'Mahonys for some breach in relation to county players - preparations for the All-Ireland final and use of players for club games.

Anyway, that was good news for Skryne who got the semi-final gig ONLY for those O'Mahonys people to APPEAL to Leinster successfully and get re-instated which meant that Skryne were out not too long after they were in (anyone remember The Bards great song from the 70s?).

Anyway again, with the semi-finals (including Skryne) fixed for last week (apparently) until the result of the O'Mahonys appeal  which meant they were cancelled.

Navan O'Mahonys then were fixed to play Ballivor in a play-off for the semi-final earlier this week but then Ballivor were unable to field and Navan O'Mahonys got a walkover.

It doesn't end there.

Those people from Skryne did what?

An APPEAL against their elimination (now remember they only got in because O'Mahonys were put out, but O'Mahonys got in again and Skryne were put out).

That appeal has to be heard yet (apparently).

And while all this is going on
