Building on a bright start that saw them pull 14-0 clear after just eight minutes Navan pushed on to win their first game of the new AIL Div 2A season 36-16 at Balreask Old today.

Brian Haugh and Riaan van der Vyver ran in for two early tries. Both were converted by Haugh who had a very impressive encounter.

Conor Hand also got in for a touchdown, again converted by Haugh with Nenagh Ormond giving themselves some hope with a converted Nick Lavin try added to an Alex Ropeti penalty.

Playing fast, enterprising rugby Navan put together a brilliant move that ended in Paddy Fox going over in the corner and at the break the home side were in front 26-10.

They didn't let up in the second-half either with Haugh running in for another try which he converted. As the game drew to a close Haugh scored from a penalty to give his team the win they undoubtedly deserved.
