Now 10pm repair time for Navan water burst

Irish Water is working in partnership with Meath County Council to repair a burst watermain in Navan. Crews have been on site since this morning. The burst occurred on the water main that feeds water into Navan, near the junction of R162 and Clonmagadden road.
The areas that may be impacted are as follows; Trim road,  Ardbraccan, Dunderry, Bohermeen, Ongenstown, Boyerstown, Blackcastle, Flowerhill, Blackcastle, Silverlawns, Boyne road, Windtown road, Gibbstown, Oristown, Rossmeen, Mullaghboy, Clogherboy, Navan Town. However supply is being maintained to the greater area of Navan town from Carne Hill reservoir. Tankers have been mobilised and are on standby to replenish water storage tanks in Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan in case their water storage runs short.
Crews have been on site since early this morning and progress has been made but there are complexities with this repair given the depth of the pipe that has burst. A traffic management plan is in place for the duration of these works. The updated completion time for the repair is expected to be 10pm this evening though it may take a number of hours for the water supply to return in full to any impacted properties.
Irish Water apologises for the inconvenience and would like to assure customers that we are progressing the repair as quickly and safely as possible.
Irish Water is encouraging customers to conserve water while work is ongoing to repair the water main.
